Valor snorted at the other males comment. He wasnt a mute and he maybe stubborn but he had its moments. He decided to ignore his little snide remark and nickname and instead took in the scenery as they came into Donavette's new territory. So this was going to be his new home? He acted as if he didn't care but really the place was quite nice. Better then the slave place. It brought back vague memories of his childhood before his capture. The memories themselves where great...just he missed his old life.
He barely even heard Donavette speak again as his face softened slightly as he continued to look around "yeah....it's lovely." Whoops he hasn't meant to say it aloud but oh well. He cant take back his words. Mostly cause he meant them. He closed his eyes a moment and watched as vague memories flashes before his closed lids. Freedom was so bittersweet sometimes. He took a look at Donavette a long moment. Sadness reflecting in his deep gaze.
"You have an amazing home Donavette. You should cherish it." He stated softly. The first time since he they met that he openly acted sincere. "Not many wolves realize what they have until they lost it." He turned his head away and took up that stone mask once more and shut his trap.

Donavette did not realize what the male had said until minutes after, until he finally pieced it together. He merely snorted lightly, agitated that a slaves words had actually almost bothered him. "We do cherish it. You'll come to cherish it too, in time." Donavette slyly glanced over at him, wondering if his subtle inclination had been noticed. He decided to leave it be, for now. They made it below the hanging limbs of the magnificent oak tree. Freeli laid down at its base, cooling herself while laying in the withered grass. Vetti looked at Valor again. "This is the heart of Norden, where we live." he explained. "You will stay not to far off, when you aren't doing what we ask of you."
Donavette, took a few steps towards the direction he would go, wanting Valor to follow. The winter air was chilly, very contrasting to the heat he had been suffering earlier. He lifted his maw to the sweet smelling breeze, taking in every scent. The birds, the mice, the flowers, the grass..everything smelled utterly pure and clean. Donavette remembered the scent; it was a distant memory. Yet he stilled recalled it. Fuzzy and blurry, the images in the back of his mind made little to no sense, but it smelled sweet. Delectable. Donavette knew he was born pretty much free, but he doesn't recall such old times. He had become a Dominor instead of a Sklavin, but that was his destiny. He had to much potential to become a low grade Sklavin. What would it feel like to become a Sklavin after being free..? He threw the thoughts away. That kind of thinking would get him nowhere. They approached a small grove of fir next to the creek, down wind of the oak tree. The firs smelled of sap and the creek constantly gurgled around what little rocks it had. "This is were you will sleep. Contort it to however you like..but keep it neat."

Valor glared at the arrogant male beside him from the corner of his eye. Moments like these he just wished to whack some sense into the male. I mean come on! What does Donavette know of suffering? Or not having from? Of having what you love torn away from you? Oh that's right nothing! Not like Valor had. And something that sincere coming from Valor to a Dominor of all people should be taken seriously. Not brushed away like it was nothing. Arrogance, one thing amongst many that he hated about Dominors He took a breath to calm himself before glancing over at Freeli as she went to cool off. The walk must have tired her out with the heat. Regardless of her snub nosing him earlier, he knew a thing or two about suffering. Whether it mild like heat or beatings from rebellion. He somewhat pitied her. Yet, if she was an old friend of Donavette's he wondered if she had influenced him in the way he turned out. Like a spoiled brat. If so, he takes back any pity he felt for her. Breaking from his random trail of thought. Valor followed Donavette. Scanning the land up ahead. To focused on seeing what was ahead that he missed what Vetti was saying. Blinking he looked at him with a frown. Damn chores. But I guess it would be a learning experience if nothing else. Pausing in his step Valor eyed the land and his new sleeping quarters silently. At least it was better then the dump he normally slept in. "What kind of things are we talking about here?" He asked narrowing his eyes at the princely male. Dear heavens if he talked to anyone else then the runt before him he's probably get into a fight. But with Donavette he was enjoying their little verbal spars. Like a show of who was boss. And neither would back down. RottNotes: welcome back!
